I never had a blog!

I think to write in a blog every class is a good way to learn English because you need to improve your vocabulary and read what my classmates do. I can know better what they like and it's a funny way to make that. Writing about what you like it's a very good way to untie your hand and becoriuse of how you can say some things. It’s different way to teach a language. In the School the classes are too boring when you have to read always topics that no one is interested. My English improve, now I can expose my ideas more clearly and express more things, talk about the details for example.

Blogging in the English class sometimes was very funny but sometimes boring. I think its better when you can do these things at home, and maybe write text a little bit longer those 180 words. Maybe write a dialog with more classmates. But, in general, is an alternative way to learn what we need to know to talk a Basic English. I prefer to talk more in English than writing, but we need to practice with the words to write an e-mail as a journalist for example to get some information.

History

History it’s my favorite subject, but I also like mat. I think History it’s really important because teach us about the past, so we can learn and not to do the same mistakes in the future.
In my school we use to watch really cool movies about war or about the royalty. Also we read books, and make presentations about some very important event of history and we presented in front of all class.

There is a tipe of history that I really like is the "What If". I have read a few books in which historians take key moments in history and theorize what life would be like today if things had gone differently.

Contents
The contents that I have seen were history of Chile, Universal history, geography. Also we saw the laws of Chile, the Constitution of Chile.

In my opinion, I think history could be mysterious and fascinating. I have been attached to old things and the nostalgic stories since I was a child. Ihave always liked old movies. In contrast to the preconceptions which usually accompany the image of History as nothing more than reading dusty old books and remembering dates, studying history is a wonderful way of learning about the past, like I mention before, in the first paragraphed, and how events and personalities in times gone by have shaped the world we live in today. :)

Where is he?

Rodolfo Walsh was an argentine writer and journalist. Some people say that he was the founder of investigative journalist. He is missed since on March 25, 1977 when Argentina was in a military dictator. His political views and his books were a huge problem for the government on that time and now his investigations are very important to know the cases of many people that were killed by the army and argentine police on those years.

He was a dangerous person for the people who was in the power because of his activities. With his job he made an option for the classical journalism view which says that the journalist just has to tell us a history with and objective point of view but he made something different. He was very active in politics. He was part of Montoneros a guerrilla in Argentina who looked with good eyes how Guevara won in Cuba. So he has a clearly point of view but he was honest and ethical with his investigations and his books show things that many people wanted to have in a hidden place. Because of this he is an example of a brave person who made his life a fight against injustice.

Some tips for your life as student

1. - Eat a lot on Friday's lunch
In Campus Juan Gómez Millas you probably want to "carretear" and maybe you'll drink too much and get drunk if you didn't eat enough. We don't wanna you bring up in front of your friends.

2.-Read and study at philosophy's library
Make you sure that you study in a quiet place. Go there if you want silence to learn something or be alone to focus.

3.- Be friendly with people who work on campus
Security guards, gardeners, secretary’s office, we  are all part of a community. If you need help they will be there for you. If you study at ICEI, please be careful with your relationship with Olguita.

Today I'm going to write about a book that I really enjoy it, but first I'm going to talk a little about the author of this book. Agatha Christie was a English crime writer of novels. Born 15 september 1890, in Devon, England. Christie served in a hospital during the First World War, before marrying and starting a family in London. In 1920, The Bodley Head press published her novel The Mysterious Affair at Styles, featuring the character of Poirot. This launched her literary career. Hercules Poirot becomes the most famous detective and long-lived characters, appearing in 33 novels, one play Black Coffee, and more than 50 short stories published between 1920 and 1975 and set in the same era. Poirot has been portrayed on radio, on screen, for films and television.
The Mistery of the Blue Train tells a history about an assassination. It starts with Katherine Grey. She and Poirot board Le Train Bleu. On board Grey meets Ruth Kettering, an American heiress leaving her unhappy marriage to meet her lover. The next morning, though, Ruth is found dead in her compartment. Ruth's father, the American millionaire Rufus Van Aldin, convince Poirot to take on the  mistery case.

 Lunch atop a Skyscraper

This photograph calls "Lunch atop a Skyscraper" and it was taken by Charles Ebbets on september 20, 1932. The photograph shows a group of 11 workers seated on a girder with their feet dangling 256 meters, on the 69th floor! above the New York City streets. They are having lunch during the construction of the RCA building at Rockefeller Center.
The men haven't any security. They don't have safety harness. They are seated like if were in the dinner room of their house. This picture was taken during the Great Depression, a time when people were willing to take any job regardless of safety issue.

The photographer
Charles Ebbets was born in August 18, 1905 in Gadsden, Alabama. He bought his first camera at the age of eight by charging it to his mother's account at a local drugstore. Ebbets started his career during the 1920s in St. Petersburg, Florida, as a still photographer.
By the 1930s Ebbets was a well known photographer and had work published in the major newspapers across the nation including the New York Times. In 1932, he was appointed photographic director for the Rockefeller Center, which was under construction in New York. In September of that year, he would take the photo which would later define his work, Lunchtime atop a Skyscraper. This picture appeared in the Sunday photo supplement of the New York Herald Tribune on October 2.

I really like this photo because you can see the buildings of New York behind the workers and it's really awesome how they can be so relax at such a high height. In fact, it causes me a little of vertigo. The other thing that I like, it's that they look like if were floating, because the photograph doesn't show the entire girder. Although I like that the picture is in black and white, maybe if was in color, the details could be more appreciated.

Today I'm going to talk about my new favourite serie. It calls Girls.Girls portrays the life of four girls of twenty-somethings that live in New York city. Created by and starring Lena Dunham. The serie begins when the aspiring writer Hannah gets a shock when her parents visit from Michigan and announce they will no longer financially support her as they have done since her graduation from Oberlin College two years before.

Some Characters

Shoshanna Shapiro
I love this character. She is Jessa's bubbly and innocent  american cousin, 21 years old. She is very intelligent and has a math major at New York University. Shoshanna loves the serie Sex & the City, and keeps a poster from the first movie in her apartment. Her "biggest baggage" is that she is a virgin. I like the way she talks (she talks very fast) and express. I think Zosia Mamet, the actress, acts very good, is very believable her character.

Adam Sackler
I love this guy. At the beginning I found him a little freak and crazy but now I think he is very kind and funny. I love his personality. Adam is usually seen in his apartment where he and Hannah have sex, but their relationship deepens over the course of the first season. But then with time they get serious and he becomes her boyfriend.  In the season one finale, he offers to move in to Hannah's apartment but then breaks up with her after he says he loves her, and she doesn't respond.
